A MAN has been instantly sent to jail after he was caught cultivating cannabis at a home in Yiewsley on Friday.
Huan Van Pham, 23, was chased by police out of his back garden, through an alleyway, after officers raided a house in Otterfield Road.
Eventually he was caught in Tesco's car park in Otterfield Road, by PC Wes Green.
AN ELDERLY man who relies on his bike to get around is appealing for its return after it was stolen.
Edward Gooch, 75, from Yiewsley, left his bike locked up outside Aldi in High Street, Yiewsley on Sunday morning, only to return to find it missing.
The bike is an orange mountain bike with no mudguards, and according to Mr Gooch, has a very distinctive look.
The bike was stolen between 11.15am and 12pm on Sunday, leaving Mr Gooch to walk home with his shopping.
He said: "It is not a new one, but it was very useful to me, I have had it for years.
"I couldn't believe it, I don't think it will be found, but I would be happy if it was."
Mr Gooch, now retired, used to work at Heathrow Airport, and rode his bike to get to work every day.

A SERIES of meetings have been arranged for residents to have their say on policing matters.
The Yiewsley Safer Neighbourhood Team will be holding the drop-in surgeries at Yiewsley Library on five dates over the next two months.
Kevan Baylie, Yiewsley SNT Sergeant, said: "We want our residents in the Yiewsley Ward to come and visit us and speak to us about their issues. The meetings we have arranged also enable our local people to find out what their local police are doing and information on forthcoming initiatives.
"We would also be happy to attend meetings that residents are arranging in the community. I ask that they consider inviting us along so we can listen and help with their local concerns."
The first will take place on Thursday (21) from 4pm until 5pm, with the second at 3.30pm until 4.30pm on Tuesday 2 February.
THERE are calls for more police to patrol buses after mothers and their children witnessed a fight on the school run.

A DRIVER returned to her car to find it vandalised with spray paint.
The attack happened while the vehicle was parked in the Tesco car park, in Fairfield Road on Friday between 5.10pm and 10.30pm.
The blue Vauxhall Corsa's bonnet and driver's door were sprayed with silver coloured paint.
A man convicted drink driving on five occasions has escaped jail.
Anil Jnagal, 26, of Falling Lane, Yiewsley, was given a suspended prison sentence when he appeared at Uxbridge Magistate's Court on Friday.
A SECURITY guard was honoured for apprehending a burglar who had stolen a charity box from a cafe in Yiewsley.
Stewart Forshaw, was given a Borough Commander's Commendation along with fellow John Guest security guard Epeli Builciri, after tackling the burglar who they had spotted acting suspiciously even though he was armed with a knife.
Mr Forshaw, who has worked as a security guard at John Guest in Yiewsley for 13 years, said: "We noticed a window at Cabin Cafe had been smashed, and saw this guy who was up to no good, apparently he had just assaulted and robbed an OAP.
"So we grabbed him and restrained him until the police arrived."
Despite the burglar's protestations that he had a knife, the pair continued to hold him down and in the lead up to his apprehension made sure he was recognised on CCTV which helped lead to his conviction.
Mr Forshaw, who previously served in the Forces, was honoured at the Borough Commander's awards, held at GlaxoSmithKline, Stockley Park, on Monday (8/12).
