stmatt.JPGPUPILS and staff at a primary school are celebrating an 'Outstanding' OfSTED report.

St Matthew's Primary School, in High Street, Yiewsley, was awarded the recommendation after a two day inspection.

The report makes reference to the good progress pupils make as they work their way through the school, and the standards of teaching.

The report also noted that the behaviour of pupils was 'impeccable' and that 'all adults work extremely well together'.

Speaking to the Gazette about their success, Chris Cole, headteacher, said: "We are very proud of the judgements that have been made, the school community has much to celebrate and feel proud about and look forward to many years of continued success.

"Our links with schools and churches both here and abroad allow the children to understand life for others who may sometimes be less fortunate than themselves.

"The school is well resourced to support the needs of all our children. The classrooms are bright, clean, happy areas which children take pride in.

"Our outdoor areas are well tended and offer safe, challenging play for all ages.

There was further good news for the school, as the report mentioned the school was 'rapidly improving', meaning the future is also looking bright.

We'd like to hear from you.
