Pensioner's bike stolen outside Aldi in High Street

AN ELDERLY man who relies on his bike to get around is appealing for its return after it was stolen.

Edward Gooch, 75, from Yiewsley, left his bike locked up outside Aldi in High Street, Yiewsley on Sunday morning, only to return to find it missing.

The bike is an orange mountain bike with no mudguards, and according to Mr Gooch, has a very distinctive look.

The bike was stolen between 11.15am and 12pm on Sunday, leaving Mr Gooch to walk home with his shopping.

He said: "It is not a new one, but it was very useful to me, I have had it for years.
"I couldn't believe it, I don't think it will be found, but I would be happy if it was."
Mr Gooch, now retired, used to work at Heathrow Airport, and rode his bike to get to work every day.

If anyone has any information which would result in Mr Gooch's bike being returned they should call Yiewsley Safer Nieghbourhood Team on 0208 721 2713.

We'd like to hear from you.
