Stockley students bedcome first to fill out police survey

YOUNGSTERS are being given their say on Hillingdon's policing strategy with the launch of a new youth survey.

The police are giving all youngsters, aged 11 to 18, a chance to go online and tell police their concerns about their community.

Participants, who remain anonymous, can comment on where they feel unsafe and at what times, as well as their thoughts on their school journeys, and the police in general.

Doug MacLeod, partnership inspector at Hillingdon Police, said: "Its an opportunity for youngsters to have their say, and for us it is really important.

"If we can get those who live in the borough to tell us how they feel then we can work from that, and give them something back."

Police safer schools officers at Stockley Academy, in Park View Road, Yiewsley, handed out the questionnaires to students on Monday to allow them to become the first to give their feedback.

The questionnaire is available at www.met.police.uk/youngpeople and takes two to four minutes to complete, and will run until 31 October.
