THERE are calls for more police to patrol buses after mothers and their children witnessed a fight on the school run.

An incident took place last Tuesday afternoon involving kids from different schools on the U3 where one student was beaten up, near to Appletree Avenue, Yiewsley.

A passenger contacted the Gazette and said: "Why aren't the police here more, several young men were beating up an innocent passenger.

"I feel sorry for the drivers, imagine that going on in your workplace.

"Mothers were on board and children were screaming."

Police confirmed they were called to an incident at Appletree Avenue, but by time they got there, the perpetrators had fled.

A police spokesperson added if anybody has concerns they wish to raise about safety on buses they should contact the Safer Transport Team on 02087212256.

We'd like to hear from you.
