Alcohol license granted for Tasties wine bar

A NEW Caribbean restaurant which opened up last month has been granted a late alcohol license despite protestations from the community.

Tasties, a new restaurant and cocktail bar, opened last month, but had not received permission to serve alcohol, with the decision resting with a Hillingdon Council licensing committee last Monday.

The restaurant on the site of a former bed shop, run by Nanette Hunte, was granted a late alcohol license until 12.30pm.

The license had been contested by the Yiewsley, West Drayton, and Cowley Chamber of Commerce, who complained that there were too many places serving alcohol in the area, and this would exacerbate many of the areas anti-social behaviour problems.

The Chamber of Commerce said they were considering appealing the decision.
